So, I had Breast Cancer

Unless people had to know, I didn’t tell them I had breast cancer in 2022. During the brisk February week that I waited for the results of my biopsy, I could feel myself teetering on the edge of self-pity and taking on a victim’s mentality. I also quickly learned that everyone knows someone with cancer, breast cancer, recurrent cancer, or fatal cancer. And they all had stories that were typically not the best for me to hear when my energy needed to be focused on positivity and healing.

For the previous six months, I had been struggling with rampant estrogen surges that fueled a recurrence of negative thinking and ineffective outward responses, as well as probably led to my cancer’s formation. Even in this unbalanced state I knew from many years of self-improvement work what I needed to change and avoid to successfully heal.

So, I limited who I told I had cancer and if I had to divulge something, I told people I was dealing with a health condition. Now, over a year later, I am ready to share the resources that have helped foster my mental and physical health, heal over the years, as well as develop a resilient positive mindset.

When I began having my estrogen outbursts in the summer of 2021, I was just launching my Coaching and Consulting business where I also shared healing resources via my website, meditation group, and social media. I put my business on hold for the past year but kept my website and Healing Meditation group active with the hope that someday I would be ready to share again. I hope my stories and resources I will be providing assist those that may not know where to turn for help and healing.

Prior to my cancer healing, I had already successfully recovered from lifelong PTSD, anxiety, depression, and the byproducts of these mental health conditions. Besides long-term counseling and support groups, I gained significant healing from reading and practicing new ways of thinking, as well as living.

Some of the self-improvement resources that were foundational and put me in a place to make major mental health strides in 2020 are linked below:

Changes That Heal – Dr. Henry Cloud

Codependent No More – Melody Beattie

Getting The Love You Want – Harville Hendrix, PH.D.

A New Earth – Eckhart Tolle

Wishing you love, peace, and healing.
